BEDFIELD POST OFFICE Tuesdays 0915 to 1115 Every Week
The Outreach Post Office provided by Selkirk Road Post Office, Ipswich, is open from 0915 until 1115 every Tuesday
The services available include:
Cash withdrawals for all major high street banks and building societies. Payment of bills. Postage for letters and parcels worldwide and UK. Special delivery and Parcel Force. Mobile phone top-ups. Vehicle licensing for cars and HGVs. Foreign currency to pre-order Euros on demand Travel insurance Car and van insurance. Home insurance. Post Office phones and broadband Post Office instant access and saver accounts
The Post Office is situated in the Bedfield sports pavilion and tea or coffee is available.
Parking is easy unlike Framlingham or Debenham Why not give it a try and help support the village and ensure the service continues
Suffolk Minerals & Waste Local Plan Issues & Options Consultation
As an initial stage of the preparation of the Suffolk Minerals & Waste Local Plan, Suffolk County Council is inviting comments upon the Issues & Options Consultation.
The Issues & Options Consultation document discusses the proposed changes to be made to the existing minerals and waste policies, and invites the submission of information in support of proposed sites for minerals extraction and wastemanagement.
Which of the proposed sites will eventually be included in the draft plan will not be known until the summer of 2017 after they have been carefully assessed. Sites that are already included in the existing plans, but which have not already come forward, will need to be resubmitted for consideration as well.
The accompanying Sustainability Appraisal document assesses the relative merits of the different issues and options.

Police station opening hours
As Suffolk Police move closer towards implementing the new local policing model on 4 April 2016, some front counters at police stations across the county will have reduced opening hours over the coming weeks.
As part of the Suffolk Local Policing review, from 4 April 2016, front counters at police stations in Ipswich , Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft will be open to the public and the remainder will close. All police stations will remain operational with local officers working from these bases and patrolling within communities. Police will still be available 24/7 via the intercoms provided outside all police stations.
A number of front counter staff are being redeployed throughout the organisation, meaning some front counters may on occasion work to reduced hours. Daily opening hours can be confirmed by ringing 101. Police can be contacted at any time in an emergency on 999 or on 101 for non-urgent matters.
From 4th April 2016, police stations can be visited in: Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft. These front counters will be open Monday- Friday 9-5 and Saturday 10-6.

National Neighbourhood Watch - OurWatch
Register on the national Neighbourhood Watch website www.ourwatch.org.uk
Registration on the system is the first step in either making contact with NHW or if you have one, registering your scheme with them.
Please be aware by registering online you are not starting a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme; you are simply registering your details on their secure database and agreeing to receive information. However, if you are the co-ordinator of a scheme you can register details and opt in to send and receive messages from your scheme members.

Suffolk Police Community Safety Unit Newsletters and local crime information
The way in which Suffolk Constabulary communicates with Neighbourhood Watch schemes will, over the next month, change. The newsletters produced by Community Watch Liaison Officers and the Police Community Safety Unit will cease and crime alerts will be sent out using Police Connect.
Police Connect is a messaging service connecting you to the very latest policing news for your area via e-mail, text or phone.
There is no charge for this service - all messages you receive are free.
Where can I get information and news on crimes, scams and issues affecting my community?
We suggest that you sign up sign up for news and bulletins via the sources detailed below.
You can register to receive information about the issues that most matter to you and be among the first to be alerted by police in the case of an emergency affecting your area. Police Connect messages will be more targeted and timely, therefore more effective.
There is no charge for this service - all messages you receive are free.
Police Connect replaced Police Direct last year and subscribers to Police Direct were not automatically transferred to Police Connect, which means people need to sign up again, if they have not already done so. There are 2 ways that people can subscribe:
1. Go to the Police Connect web page on the Constabulary website, and sign up on line.
As part of that registration process you will be asked to indicate whether you are a coordinator or a member of a scheme. Please ensure that you do indicate your status when you do register.
2. Police Connect registration forms can be provided for you.The form is quick and easy to complete, these can be handed into a police station or posted to:

From Wednesday 1 June 2016, the opening hours at Suffolk’s Household Recycling Centres (HWRCs) has changed to offer site users extra hours on
Sundays, Bank Holidays, and on a Thursday evening during summer months, reflecting the times when the sites are most used and needed by residents.
The busiest times of the week for these sites are the weekend and bank holidays. One of the quietest days of the week is consistently a Wednesday. As a result of this, all sites will be closed on a Wednesday.
The new opening times for Suffolk County Council’s Household Waste Recycling Centres are as follows:
April - September
Monday – 9am – 5pm
Tuesday – 9am – 5pm
Wednesday – Closed*
Thursday – 9am – 5pm (open until 7pm during May - August)*
Friday - 9am – 5pm
Saturday - 9am – 5pm
Sunday - 9am – 5pm*
October - March
Monday – 9am – 4pm
